May 2017- Current ongoing contract primarily to restructure Estates & Capital Projects to meet contemporary best practice. In addition, Manage Infrastructure Capital Projects.
ENGINEERING COMPLIANCE CONSULTANT, ROYAL BROMPTON & HAREFIELD FOUNDATION NHS TRUST
April 2016- Current ongoing contract responsible for PPM/ compliance review of the Brompton & Harefield Hospital Sites. Commissioned to rewrite Estates tender specification for Mechanical Services. Enhanced department compliance in readiness for the June 2016 CQC inspection and December 2016 PAM submission.
INTERIM, HEAD OF ESTATES, GEORGE ELIOT HOSPITAL NHS TRUST
Jan 2016- April 2016 3 Month Contract to manage the Estates team and evaluate the service in readiness for a structural review of the service.
ENGINEERING MANAGER, BLACK COUNTRY PARTNERSHIP FOUNDATION NHS TRUST
Oct 2014 – Nov 2015 13 Month Contract. Responsible for Trust HTM compliance, ensure CQC and statutory health & safety standards are met, introduction of due diligence audits, Micad implementation, overall planning, execution and success of engineering ppm’s and scheduling. Also in charge of managing the engineering team and overseeing operational staff who install, service, test, diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical plant and equipment.
ESTATES OFFICER, GREAT ORMOND STREET CHILDRENS HOSPITAL NHS TRUST.
July 2014 - Sept 2014. 3-Months Contract to write contract specification for pending tenders. Support the technical development of the Estates team.
ENGINEERING CONSULTANT, COVENTRY & WARWICKSHIRE PARTNERSHIP NHS TRUST
April 2013 completing the 7-month assignment to train and equip Estates hard services to a acceptable level. This project involves re-writing the planned maintenance schedules and developing policies and training programs.
HEAD OF ENGINEERING & ENVIRONMENT, BIRMINGHAM CHILDREN'S NHS TRUST
I have recently completed the Jan 2012, 9-month contract to equip and train Estates hard facility management services to a level acceptable for ‘best practice ‘external consultant assessment. This assessment and subsequent report submitted to the board ultimately lead to the trust recommendation to enter into multi trust partnership service delivery.
ENGINEERING MANAGER, BIRMINGHAM CHILDREN'S NHS TRUST
I completed in December 2011, 6-month commission to restructure both the Medical Engineering department and the Estates function. These services were provided by an in-house team of 7 Medical Engineers and an Estates team of 15 staff and specialist contractors.
HEAD OF ESTATES, MAYDAY HEALTHCARE NHS TRUST
I commenced this role in August 2007. The position was responsible for Engineering Services, Minor Works, Waste Management, Energy Management, Electrical Biomedical Services, FM Task Management, FM Date Management and Engineering Procurement. These services were provided by an in-house team of 25 staff and specialist contractors, the role managed the in-house staff and contractors.
HEALTH COMPLIANCE:
The Head of Estates role managed health engineering compliance within the Trust which referenced Health Technical Memorandum’s, Fire Code, Asbestos, Water Quality,Legionella, DDA, Plant Insurance, Medical Gasses and EBME compliance within CQC and CAS management.
INTERIM, HEAD OF CAPITAL PROJECTS, MAYDAY HEALTHCARE NHS TRUST
I was seconded (October 2009) to perform the role of Interim, Head of Capital Projects due to a vacancy within the directorate. The role managed Capital Projects within the Trust. The 09/10 program consisted of £6.3M capital new build and £1.5M charitable funded projects.
TRAINING & COMMISSIONING
John Chantler PLC the Addis Ababa based company can deliver tailored packages to suit most Electrical projects. The company can undertake tender training and commissioning including the preparation of 'As Constructed' Documentation. The information can also be provided in Amharic and delivered by through 'face to face' and supported by training documentation.
FACILITIES ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT
John Chantler Group provides a Facilities Engineering Management Service which specialise in the provision of strategic engineering advice, maintenance and asset management support throughout the operational life of the building. We can provide life cycle analysis for all engineering services as well as the provision of a programmed schedule of replacement linked to annual expenditure. John Chantler Group practical & pragmatic approach to this area of work provides comfort to our clients in the knowledge that their buildings running costs are known and thus funds are made available when needed for repair and or replacement. The company provides a practical approach to the management of projects from inception to completion and beyond.
John Chantler Group offers an all-inclusive maintenance management service which specialise in the provision of planned and or reactive maintenance management throughout the operational life of the building. In addition we can provide asset management analysis to benchmark the condition and lifespan from which a replacement and/or refurbishment programme can be developed. John Chantler Group is often employed to undertake a review of a client’s current maintenance regime as well as undertake random checks on the quality of on-going maintenance. John Chantler Group offers a wide range of specialist M&E cost advice to a varied range of clients, providing added value in all areas of the pre-contract phase to ensure our clients are fully informed and financially aware in advance of detailed design and construction.
FEASIBILITY STUDIES
John Chantler Group can provide feasibility studies at all levels from basic preliminary desktop studies through to more highly complex investigations involving multi-disciplinary teams. Feasibility studies can look at both practical and technical issues including associated costs as well as the impact upon the environment.
